The Community Float, June 2003
During the summer months, County Antrim hosts a variety of community get-togethers and festivals, such as the Lammas Fair and the Glenarm Show. The Just Say No To Lignite campaign attends as many of these as possible, offering visitors information on the campaign and keeping the issue in the public eye.
In 2003, the Kilraughts Young Farmers Club built a Just Say No To Lignite Float that went on to win many local “best float” awards. Kilraughts is a townland in County Antrim, and would be the epicentre of the mine and power station, if it were to be built.
